Since 1936, Lōkahi Federal Credit Union has proudly served the financial needs of individuals and families across Oʻahu. As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, we remain dedicated to the betterment of the communities we serve—guided by our core values of integrity, respect, commitment, a deep sense of community, and the belief that we can make it better, together.
Lōkahi Federal Credit Union’s legacy began on October 31, 1936, as the Hawaiian Air Depot Employees Federal Credit Union, serving civilian workers at Luke Field. When the Hawaiian Air Depot relocated and was reactivated as Hickam Field on September 15, 1938, the credit union followed—remaining steadfast in its service to the same dedicated community.
In 1948, Hickam Field was renamed Hickam Air Force Base, and in 1950, we rebranded as Hickam Federal Credit Union to reflect our new home and close ties to the base. Over the decades, we continued to grow, adapting to change while remaining true to our mission of empowering members through trusted financial services and personalized support.
On March 4, 2025, we proudly embraced a new name: Lōkahi Federal Credit Union—a name that better reflects our diverse and expanding membership. Rooted in the Hawaiian value of lōkahi, meaning unity, harmony, and accord, our new identity honors our past while looking toward the future. These values reflect who we are, who we serve, and our enduring commitment to bringing people together to build a stronger financial future.
Today, Lōkahi Federal Credit Union serves all of Oʻahu as a community credit union with the ethos that we grow stronger together—and with a profound belief that we can make it better, together. We remain a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution that puts people over profits, offering
Grounded in trust and shared purpose, we continue to grow alongside our members—always guided by the values of lōkahi and the belief that we can make it better, together.
