At Lōkahi Federal Credit Union, we believe in the power of unity—lōkahi—especially when it comes to caring for our keiki. That’s why we’ve partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Kapiʻolani Medical Center, part of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, to support life-saving care for Hawai‘i’s youngest patients. Through exclusive fundraising items and community contributions, we’re helping provide specialized equipment, treatments, and compassionate support for local families. And best of all, 100% of the funds raised stay right here in Hawai‘i, directly benefiting children in our local communities. When we unite for our keiki, we help create real miracles.
This year, we’re doing more than just collecting donations—we’ve teamed up with some local favorites to create exclusive products that help make our first fundraiser as Lōkahi FCU one to remember. These limited-edition collabs are a fun way to give back, and every purchase supports care for Hawai‘i’s keiki at Kapiʻolani Medical Center.

At just two weeks old, Aurelia Awa’s life took an unexpected turn. Her parents noticed bruising under her eyes—an early sign of what would soon be diagnosed as acute myeloid leukemia. It was the beginning of a long and uncertain journey.
Aurelia spent five months at Kapiʻolani Medical Center undergoing intensive chemotherapy. During recovery, her parents noticed something heartbreaking: she wasn’t making eye contact. Doctors discovered that damage to her optic nerve had caused her to lose her vision.
But Aurelia’s story didn’t stop there.
At age four, she began experiencing extreme fatigue. Tests revealed significant heart failure, a rare complication from her earlier treatment. She recovered, only to face congestive heart failure again five years later.
Despite these challenges, Aurelia has never let her circumstances define her. She’s now 11 years old—cancer-free, full of life, and fiercely resilient. She plays the drums, rides rollercoasters, and recently finished reading the entire Harry Potter series. Her favorite quote?
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Aurelia is that light. Her courage, joy, and determination to help other children through their own medical journeys make her a true champion—not just for CMN, but for all of us.
Aurelia’s story is a powerful reminder of why we come together each year to support Children’s Miracle Network. Every dollar raised helps provide:
More importantly, every dollar raised stays right here in Hawaiʻi, helping children and families in our own communities receive the care they need, when they need it most.
When you participate in our annual CMN campaign, you’re not just fundraising - you’re helping create stories of survival, strength, and joy. You’re helping turn on the light for children and families in their darkest times.
Let Aurelia’s journey by your inspiration - your light.
Your generosity helps light the way for children like Aurelia—keiki who face unimaginable medical challenges with courage, resilience, and hope.
Aurelia’s story is an inspiring reminder of what we can achieve together. From her earliest battles with leukemia to her ongoing journey of resilience, she represents the strength of Hawai‘i’s keiki and the importance of coming together to support them.
Mahalo for your support, we're not just raising funds-we're uniting together to raise spirits, strengthen our community, and create a future where every child has a chance to shine.
We can make it better, together.
